Mike McCrary - Club Director/ Recruiting Coordinator/ Assistant Coach 18 Black

Mike started his playing career at Clear Creek High School. From there, he went on to play at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California then was starting setter the Florida State University Men’s Club team where he was also the club president and volunteer coach for the women's program. He has experience playing multiple positions including middle blocker, outside hitter and setter. He has coached for almost 20 years and coached all levels of play from 12's to college and both girls and boys. His coaching resume includes eight USA Junior National Open and Club bids and multiple National Qualifier wins. He has coached at Galveston College and San Jacinto College where they were National Title contenders. He spent three seasons as the Head Coach of St. John's School Varsity Boys Volleyball where they were SPC South Zone Champions each season. Mike has coached numerous players that have gone on to have successful professional careers overseas. During his tenure as Club Director at his previous club, they sent seven teams to USA Junior Nationals, including two bronze medals and a National Championship. Mike is a father of three, Dylan, Lily and Violet.

Mike Kent - Associate Club Director/ Assistant Recruiting Coordinator/ Head Coach 14 Black/ Assistant Coach 17 Black

Mike grew up playing volleyball in Milford, Massachusetts. He played varsity for 3 years with the team’s best finish making it to the state semi finals. Mike was selected as a Mid-Watch League all star junior and senior year as an outside hitter and DS. He was also selected to represent Central Massachusetts in the Bay State Games as a DS his junior year. Mike played club volleyball for 3 years at Beantown Volleyball Club in Natick, Massachusetts as well as for his school.

Mike moved to Houston to attend the University of Houston and pursue his degree in Kinesiology. He started his coaching career in Houston at area volleyball clubs as well as Episcopal High School. He has coached all levels from developmental to the varsity level at high school for both boys and girls.He also regularly runs summer camps at local Houston high schools. He has most recently been coaching club volleyball at the national level where he has helped produce an all american setter and outside hitter as well as qualifying for nationals.

Mike is currently heading into his 10th year as the head varsity coach at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas.

Jerrick Cabrales- Head Coach 15 Black/ Head Coach 16 Yellow 

Coach Jerrick believes athletes should pursue excellence both on and off the court. The biggest reward in coaching is seeing each player grow not only as an athlete, but also as an individual.

Jerrick R. Cabrales was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Houston, Texas in 2008 for his studies. He graduated with a major in Business/Finance management. Jerrick played basketball and volleyball throughout high school in California, making 1st team All-League as an Outside Hitter (OH) / Defensive Specialist (DS). He is an experienced indoor and sand volleyball player. Jerrick started coaching in 2010, since then he has coached boys and girls at the National, State, Local, Developmental levels from age 10-18. He is knowledgeable in all skills and is a driving force within the club.

Sam O'Malley-  Head Coach 12 Black/ Head Coach 17 White / NRG 12U
Coach Sam attended Dulles High School in FBISD where she was a three year letterman in volleyball and softball. She earned a volleyball scholarship to Belhaven University, in Jackson Mississippi, where she was a four year starter. Coach Sam was recruited as an outside hitter but ended up playing in many positions. She ended her two seasons as a middle hitter and enjoyed that the most. Her senior season her team broke the school record for the most amount of wins in a season. She also finished that season in the top 5 for hitting percentage, blocks and aces in the conference. While she was in college she coached at Mississippi Impact for the 14s team for two years. Last season she coached a 14s team at a local Houston club. Along with volleyball she is also involved in CrossFit and competes often. She is also an assistant coach at her CrossFit gym.

Tim Homa
Tim Homa has been coaching volleyball at a multitude of levels since 1997. He has coached at the varsity level since 2000 and has a .648 winning percentage. Tim coached in Las Vegas for ten years, prior to moving to Traverse City. There he was selected Coach of the Year 4 times (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005) and his teams made it to the State finals three times (2002, 2003, 2005). Tim was co-owner of the Desert Elite Volleyball Club that operated out of Las Vegas and helped to train over 150 girls who wanted to increase their volleyball skills. Tim coached the 13's, 16's and 18's age groups while a part of Desert Elite. Tim was also the Owner and Director of the Grand Traverse Volleyball Club in Traverse City, Michigan in 2006-2008.

Darcy Naylon- Head Coach 13 Yellow

Darcy was raised right here in the Houston area. Her love for volleyball started at the age of 13. She played volleyball in Jr High and for Deer Park High School. She also played for several different clubs throughout the Houston area. Coach Mike M was her 18s coach!

Darcy graduated high school and attended Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) where she received her engineering degree. After graduation, she found herself back in Houston. 

Darcy believes it is important to always stay active. During her free time, she plays intramural sports with the city of Houston and enjoys exercising with her husband. 

Her goal as a Coach is to give players the ability to improve physically and mentally on and off the court. She encourages individuals to discover their strengths in both their academic lives and personal lives. Players will grow strong through the values taught at FO1 Revolution Volleyball.

Alex Edwards - Head Coach 13 Black/ Head Coach 14 Grey/ Assistant Coach 17 White

Alex Edwards was born in Houston and grew up in the Katy area. She earned her 2-year volleyball letter from Taylor High School and graduated in 2009. Alex played as a defensive specialist for the University of Oklahoma for one season and transferred to the University of Houston to finish her volleyball career. At Houston, she played 2 years as a defensive specialist and helped the team NCAA RPI rankings to number 38, the highest ranking in the program's history since also reaching a No. 38 ranking in 1999. She also received Conference USA Commissioner Honor Roll and Conference USA Academic Medal during her volleyball career. She graduated cum laude from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in December 2013. During and after college, Alex wanted to coach in order to give young volleyball players insight and guidance. From 2011- 2013 she was the assistant coach for the top 18s team for 2 club volleyball seasons. She then assisted and co-head coached the top 16s and 18s during the 2013-2014 club season. Last season, (2014-2015 club season) Alex was the head coach of the 17s. Alex continues to play volleyball in her free time and played in a women’s league over the past few years. She is looking forward to change and being apart of FO1 Revolution.

Kurt Atkinson - NRG Director
Coach Kurt has been around the sport of volleyball for over 10 years, as his daughters progressed in both club and school volleyball.  He began coaching volleyball at the YMCA when his daughter expressed an interest.  It didn’t take long for him to realize the passion he has for coaching.  After going undefeated at the YMCA, Coach Kurt decided to try his hand at Club, so he brought his entire team over to FO1 for a bigger challenge.  In the first season, his FO1 11U team performed well placing in the top five in all of their tournaments with a first place finish in their first outing.  Coach Kurt enjoys working with kids on the fundamentals to help prepare them for Club and School Volleyball.  He still has a daughter in the sport and he values the importance of learning good habits that will help benefit the players as they progress with their skills.  Coach Kurt has coached our 12U and 13U teams in the past and currently coaches the Girls Developmental League (NRG).

Kurt is happily married to his wife, Lisa, of 22 years and has three daughters, Megan (19), Emily (17) and Kayla (12).

Brandi Gawlik- Head Coach 18 Black

Brandi Gawlik is a full time mommy, who left her teaching and coaching career, to raise three little girls. In 2007, she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. During college, Brandi worked as an assistant volleyball coach at St. Joseph's Catholic School, in Bryan, and had the unique opportunity to be a part of the coaching staff with Midway High School in Waco, TX where they won the girls 4A state championship. Upon graduating, she went on to teach (Health and P.E) and coached (Volleyball & Girls Golf) at Cy-Lakes high school from 2008-2012. Over the years, she has worked with young ladies at Texas Tornados and Texas Twisters Volleyball Clubs and is excited to be joining FO1!

Carlos Gutierrez- Head Coach 16 Black/ Head Coach 15 Yellow/ Assistant Coach 17 Yellow

Carlos Gutiérrez was born in California where he began playing volleyball. Carlos received his MD degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México (UANL). He played as a setter and outside-hitter  at Universidad A de Nuevo León Monterrey- D1; Tec of Monterrey-D1; Universidad Regiomontana, Monterrey- D1; and  Universidad Carlos III Madrid, Spain D1.Carlos played with the Mexican National team from 1974 to 1982 participating at the Centroamerican games, Norcecas games, Pan-American games, World Cups and Pre Olympics. He played professional volleyball in Japan and Italy. He has experience coaching college men and women D1 in Mexico and Spain and was part of the coaching staff of the Mexican National Team. Carlos moved to Houston in 1993 to pursue higher education and decided to call Houston his home. He then began coaching club and high schools. Carlos is currently part of the coaching staff at St Agnes Academy High School. Carlos is excited to be part of F01 Revolution Volleyball Club.

Eli Rosinke- Head Coach 14 White

Coach Eli started playing club volleyball at 11 years old. She played at Clear Springs High School as a three year varsity Libero. Eli ended her high school career as defensive player of the year and continued on to play college volleyball at Roberts Wesleyan College and St Johns River State College. She retired from playing competitive volleyball but continued on to get her Bachelors of Science in Anthropology from University of Houston. While studying, she coached at a number of different clubs in and around the Houston area (most years with Coach Mike). 
After finishing her studies, Eli made the courageous decision to move to Sydney, Australia. She has spent the last 8 months living and traveling the East Coast of Australia. She had the time of her life but is eager to get back on the court!

Kerry Hofmeister- Floater coach

Coach Kerry was born in Michigan where he began his volleyball coaching career at Valley Lutheran High School. As the lead varsity assistant at Valley Lutheran Kerry helped lead the Chargers to numerous conference, district, and regional championships while being consistently ranked in the state during his 5 years on staff. Kerry then joined the varsity staff at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in Atlanta, GA. Throughout his time at Holy Innocents' the Golden Bears captured the 2014 and 2015 state championships. This past fall Kerry completed his first year coaching boys volleyball at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. In addition to coaching, Kerry works as a history teacher and baseball coach at Episcopal High School. In his free time he enjoys traveling with the goal of seeing 30 countries before he turns 30.

Long Nguyen-  Head Coach 14 Yellow/ Head Coach 17 Yellow

Coach Long is from a big family and has lived in Houston most of his life. There were five boys and two girls and everything was competitive, especially school to sports. 

Long started playing volleyball in 2007. He started in recreational coed leagues and moved on to a competitive men's league before getting into coaching. Long started coaching in 2010, both girls and boys of all ages and skill levels. He's coached in private schools, club developmental teams, local, state and national teams. Coach Long is very dedicated and is always in the gym or in the sand with his teams or assisting others to help them grow as coaches and players. 

Coach Long believes, "It's not how you start, but it's how you finish".  

Long has coached with clubs; Fort Bend Fire, Katy Elite, and FO1. He's also coached in private schools; St. Francis, St. John's, and is currently at The Kinkaid School in Houston.  

Long is available for lessons and training either indoor or sand.

Preston Smith-  Head Coach 17 Black/ Assistant Coach 15 Black

Preston has a long history in the sport of Volleyball. He has coached at the USA, Collegiate, High School, and Club levels. He played in college at Western State College of Colorado, and continues to compete at the open level in sand and indoor volleyball. At the collegiate level, Preston was the Assistant Woman's Volleyball Coach at Texas Wesleyan University and Western State College of Colorado. He has also been the Head Coach for the Men's Club team at the University of Texas. He helped start the women's program at the University of St. Thomas, and was the Interim Head Coach at Houston Baptist University in 2012.

At the club level, Smith was one of the former owners of Texas Alliance Volleyball and was recently a Master Coach at Houston Juniors South. He has qualified teams from Houston Juniors, Texas Tornados, Southwest Juniors, TCA, VIA, and Texas Alliance for the USA National Championships.

At the High School level, Preston is currently coaching at St. John XXIII in Katy. Preston was previously the Head Coach at St. Pius X High School. At Pius he had a record breaking 40-2 season, and won two district Championships during his tenure at St. Pius X. In 2004, Preston received District 4 Coach of the year awards for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Hammond, LA. While at St. Thomas Aquinas he won a District Championship and a trip to the state final four.
